ADDA's quality system rests on international and national standards: ISO 9001 since 2002, STCW in seafarer training, ABS, Bureau Veritas and The Nautical Institute certification at the Training Centre. This page brings together certificates, internal monitoring and where results are published.

How internal monitoring works
Teaching documents
Curricula are approved by the Academic Council; syllabi, schedules, course programmes, textbooks and teaching aids are checked.
Class observation
Open lessons and peer observation follow a schedule.
Examination results
Results of examination sessions and graduation projects are collected, summarised and discussed.
Academic discipline
Academic discipline is monitored and reported to the management.

Quality policy
The Academy's quality policy is based on strict compliance with international and national standards for education, training and simulator centres and the training of maritime transport specialists, and covers all levels of work.

The Training Centre was audited and certified by Bureau Veritas to ISO 9001:2015; its courses are accredited by the State Maritime Agency and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). The Nautical Institute (UK) certified the Centre's dynamic positioning (DP) simulator. Details: Training Centre.
STCW. Azerbaijan is on the IMO STCW "White List" (MSC.1/Circ.1164): it has been confirmed to give full and complete effect to the Convention — the basis for recognition of Azerbaijani seafarer certificates by other states.
Who is responsible
Monitoring of teaching quality is part of the work of the Academic Process Department, which has quality assurance and monitoring specialists. Curricula are approved by the Academy's Academic Council.
