What the Society does
- involves students in research and encourages them to think creatively and express their ideas clearly;
- annual student research conferences and books of abstracts;
- olympiads, competitions and debates;
- seminars on research methods and academic writing;
- cooperation with other universities’ student societies — for example the Azerbaijan Sport Academy (news).
Olympiad
Every year first- and second-year students compete in an olympiad in the general professional subjects — mathematics, physics and computer science. Each subject is a separate written round; after marking, the committee announces the winners, who receive first-, second- and third-degree diplomas.
“Language — the Road to a Career”
The Academy’s traditional national inter-university student contest. Each participant gives a presentation of up to four minutes in English on a topic of their choice and answers the jury’s questions. The relevance of the topic, the delivery and English skills are assessed; winners receive first- to third-degree diplomas and other participants certificates.
