Information resource center of Azerbaijan State Marine Academy

Information Resource Center (hereinafter referred to as IRC) being one of the major structural divisions of Azerbaijan State Marine Academy, is a center providing information support to ASMA’s education and research activities. It is also used as a center furnishing the research process with teaching, scientific, methodological literature and information data, and disseminating cultural, moral and intellectual supplementary materials.

IRC was created by the order of ADDA No. 1247/K dated 09.09.2015.

IRC, as a center which can be measured for its multifaceted activities, performs its work in different sectors.

The sector operates in accordance with the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On access to information” in order to ensure information strategy, press and advertising policy, proper coordination and effective management of Public Relations of the university satisfy the public needs for information in relation to ASMA, and protect and develop the transparent image of the Academy.

In its work IRC is governed by the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Education”, the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On access to information”, the law “On library work”, the orders, decrees and normative documents of the Ministry of Education, as well as by the orders, decrees, and provisions of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company and Azerbaijan State Marine Academy.

IRC is governed by the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Education”, the law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On access to information”, the law “On library work”, the orders, decrees and normative documents of the Ministry of Education, as well as by the orders, decrees, and regulations of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company and Azerbaijan State Marine Academy.

Organization of cultural events concerning the activities of the Academy, and enhancement of its promotion and credibility;

Organization of mass media representatives’ participation in activities of the Academy, monitoring of ASMA related materials published in mass media and keeping the administration informed about them;

Regular publication of articles about reforms carried out in the Academy, discoveries, inventions and innovative activities of departments and laboratories;

Preparation of news announcements to inform the public and staff about events in ASMA;

Organization of administration of ASMA website and daily update of new in the Azerbaijani, English and Russian languages;

To ensure close involvement of ASMA on social networks;

To prepare ASMA’s directory, brochures, posters, and promotional CDs in order to provide applicants and secondary school students with information about the Academy and its structures, to get university-related information outside the country and/or acquaint the visitors with the university.

To organize the collection of paper, video and photo materials to archive the Academy’s activity and subscription to paper and electronic publications of print media.

The sector represents ASMA in the work of commissions and groups formed in the Academy and other state agencies to discuss issues of various levels in different local and international events and participate in their activities.
