A Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy and the National Transport University of Ukraine

On 3 July 2026, a meeting was held at the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy (ASMA) with Professor Olena Tymoshchuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Kyiv Water Transport named after Hetman Petro Konashevych-Sahaidachnyi, representing the National Transport University of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the Azerbaijan State Maritime Academy and the National Transport University of Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The document was signed by Eldar Gojayev, Acting Rector of ASMA, and Professor Olena Tymoshchuk, acting on behalf of Professor Oleksandr Hryshchuk, Rector of the National Transport University.
The parties discussed the development of higher education in the fields of maritime and water transport, the expansion of scientific cooperation, the strengthening of international academic relations, and prospects for future joint initiatives.
The signed Memorandum establishes a framework for long-term cooperation between the two higher education institutions. Under the agreement, the parties will collaborate in organizing undergraduate and graduate student exchange programs, facilitating reciprocal visits of academic and administrative staff, conducting joint research projects, participating together in seminars, conferences, and other academic events, exchanging educational and scientific materials, as well as developing short-term educational programs and collaborative projects.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Memorandum will contribute significantly to strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in higher education and science, expanding the exchange of international experience in maritime education, and enhancing the global partnerships of both universities.
The parties also agreed to prepare a concrete action plan in the near future and to launch joint academic initiatives within the framework of the Memorandum.
